Using The Windows Live Messenger Chat Network

The Windows operating system you are using would have a default chat application pre-installed in it. Microsoft adds the Windows Live Messenger as the default chat application in Windows as a way to get more users enrolled to their Windows Live chat network. If you do not find any chat application in your system, then visit the Windows online support website and download the Windows Live Messenger for free.

Creating an account in Windows Live Messenger

All Windows users can download and install the latest Windows Live Messenger application online. They can use any of their Windows online service IDs – for Hotmail, Windows Live, MSN, etc – to log in to the Windows Live Messenger chat network. If do not have a Windows online service ID, you can easily sign for a new one from the Windows Live Messenger.

Just launch the Windows Live Messenger application and click on the Sign Up link that you would find below the Username and Password text fields. Here you would be asked to enter your email address for the sign up process. If you do not have an email address, then create an email address for the Hotmail or Outlook webmail service.

You would be asked to create a password for the new Windows Live Messenger account. In the next page, you have to enter some personal details like name, country, gender, zip code, etc. After filling in all these details, you would be asked to enter the CAPTCHA shown on the screen. After this, the user licence agreement would be displayed.

Read it and press the I Agree button, if you agree to the terms and conditions of using the Windows Live chat network. This completes the registration for a Windows Live Messenger account. You can now log in to the Windows Live Messenger client using the new username and password.

If you fail to log in, go online and visit your email account inbox – the same email address you gave for the Windows Live Messenger registration. There, you would find an email from Windows online support waiting in the inbox. Open this mail message and confirm the Windows Live account registration by clicking on the link provided in the message. Once you have thus confirmed the account registration, go to the Windows Live Messenger and log in using the new ID and password.

Now, get in touch with all your friends and colleagues using the Windows Live chat network.
