Removing The Ask Toolbar From Different Browsers

Often, you’ll find a new toolbar or an add-on in your browser menu. You might not have any idea how it got there. The truth probably is that you unintentionally let this toolbar in. You need to pay more attention when you install software applications. Many of them are indeed bundled with browser toolbars like the Ask toolbar.

When you quickly click your way through the installation process, you are agreeing to install this browser toolbar in your system. Then, later, you would have to worry about Ask toolbar removal.

How to remove the Ask toolbar from Mozilla Firefox

Removing the Ask toolbar from Mozilla Firefox is very easy. Just go to the Tools menu and then Add-ons. There you would find the Ask toolbar. Click on it display the different options like Update, Remove, Disable, etc. You can either disable it or opt for the Ask toolbar removal. After this, you may be asked to restart the browser for the changes to take effect.

Removing the Ask toolbar from Internet Explorer

In Internet Explorer, you need to go to the Tools menu and click on the Manage Add-ons option. There, select the Ask toolbar and click on the option to uninstall or disable it.

Removing the Ask toolbar from Google Chrome

In Google Chrome, you need to click on the icon with the three horizontal lines that you would find at the right hand corner of the menu bar. This would open a drop down menu. There click on the Settings option, and then Extensions. You would now see a list of all the extensions installed in Google Chrome. Select the Ask toolbar, uncheck the Enabled option to disable it or click on the trashcan icon to remove it.

Removing the Ask toolbar application from the system

Even after removing the Ask toolbar from all the browsers in the system, it might reappear on the browser menu. This is because there is an Ask toolbar application running in your system. To uninstall this, go to the Control Panel, select the Add or remove programs option there, find the Ask toolbar application from the list of installed programs and uninstall it.

If the Ask toolbar again annoyingly reappears, you may have to use a toolbar removal tool to get rid of all its traces from your system. You could easily find many freeware toolbar removal tools online.
